Why even bother having three people on site at the Palmerston Range permanent road closure if the lights are just going to run on auto? There’s absolutely no benefit or efficiency to traffic movement with people standing there doing nothing while the lights handle the flow. The lights could have vehicles backed up at one end for ages while there’s no traffic at the other end, and yet they wouldn’t intervene. Called the 24 hour number twice to report a problem with the roadside markers being knocked down north of Mossman near Syndicate Road. Potentially dangerous situation. Could not get a reply.
