Extremely POOR Customer service. Personnel are friendly but that's the extent of their service. NEVER RETURNS CALLS, including the MANAGER. Will give a really hard time to honor AE 10 year no charge guarantee on warranty for Parts and Service. Knowledge is limited among staff when calling to ask questions unless you speak to the right person. Inverter stopped working within 3 years. Took 1 month to finally get it replaced under warranty after several calls of complaining on my end. NEVER was offered any type of compensation ... read more

We installed a solar water heater (replacement of inoperable one and relocated from inside closet to outside storage), 18 PV panels and a Tesla battery. I had already signed contracts and started the process with Haleakala but I paid $1500 to cancel everything with Haleakala and switched to AE when Haleakala could not tell me what kind of PV panels were being installed. We had our PV system installed several years ago. Great salesmanship and installation. HOWEVER, now that one microinverter has failed, I’m not getting any response. I’ve called 3 times to ask for a call back from the “PV” guy...no response. How sad and what terrible customer service. Now I have to be the “complainer” and call the manager. I’ve referred 3 other people and they all bought PV systems from Alternate Energy. Guess I’ll have to apologize to them....service is key in this competitive market.
