Was literally here less than ten minutes ago. This business is GOLDEN. I only had an hour to get a smog check (during my lunch break). I was there 15 minutes total--super quick, easy, and no stress. I'll happily be returning every two years from here on out!
I was able to walk in and get seen straight away for my annual smog test. Efficient, friendly service.
Tom is an honest mechanic and smog technician. He does not feed you any BS, and tells you what you only need. I e been smogging my cars here for almost 20 years. If sees something obviously wrong with your car before the smog, he will tell you to get it fixed before possibly failing the test. He genuinely cares for his customers and it shows.
Mostly I do my own maintenance on my older Prius. I don't like other people working on my car since it is my life on the line when I drive. But Tom at Altadena Smog is the only person I fully trust to work on my car. He does not swap in refurb or non OEM parts without telling you. (On older cars sometimes you have no other choice.)
