Great local market - it’s small but mighty! In addition to interesting produce stands (in season veggies, fruits, berries) there’s also a good variety of prepared foods (food trucks, pickles, artisan cheese, fresh oysters, etc). It’s also the only market that’s actively aiming for zero waste-no plastics with a team of volunteers manning a washing station and giving out cloth produce bags. The location is right next to a park and is perfect for impromptu picnics while munching on the delicious food you just bought.
I've been to most of the farmer's markets in the Los Angeles area and I definitely have to say that the AFM is the most lovey collection of local vendors I have seen so far. It's a great place for the kids to run/scooter/bike around in the park while the parents can get some healthy and fresh shopping done. As someone who wants the best for our environment, I really appreciate the zero waste initiative they have taken with reusable bags provided and dishes and cutlery being given out and then washed onsite. This is a very community, family friendly atmosphere. You can taste the deliciousness of the fruits, vegetables and nuts.
