I am alive because of this place. It’s not perfect, but the staff really do care. I went into it not knowing what to expect at all, since this was my first time in treatment. Not having any control was really hard at first, but in the end I saw how much it benefited me to not have 100% control over everything. Just be prepared for a lot of rules that you will have to follow. As long as you’re willing and open to change, this place is well worth it. This place is a joke when it comes to eating disorder treatment. The program relies heavily on virtual care, with very little in-person support available. For a condition that often requires close therapeutic and nutritional guidance, that was extremely disappointing. One of the biggest issues is the constant staff turnover. People seem to be leaving all the time, and it creates an environment that feels unstable and disorganized. Alsana residential in Monterey really helped me bridge the gap between me and food. The program gave me coping skills and tools and helped me deal with intrusive thoughts. My therapist and dietitian were amazing!!!! When I got there, I didn't want to be there but when I discharged, I didn't want to leave. It was an amazing experience. I highly recommend this treatment center to anyone struggling with eating disorders.
The Alsana residential program in Monterey was incredible. The staff were so warm and compassionate. I learned how to heal my relationship with food and myself through CFT and other therapeutic practices. I would definitely recommend this facility to others in need of their services.
