Great location and very convenient. The concierge is friendly and helpful, and having EV charging in the common area is a nice bonus. Not sure why this building gets some negative reviews. I've found it to be much quieter and better overall than many of the other buildings nearby.
I moved in here with my husband 5.5 years back and we were happy. Beautiful views,Nice gym and garden.Close to the sky train. Brentwood mall, garden works, library, deer lake park, Burnaby mountain and Barnet marine park are within a few minutes drive. But that’s where the good things end. I rented a 14th-floor apartment here and lived there for a year and a half. Without any reason, I was fined. The smart gate in the parking lot frequently malfunctioned, making it very inconvenient. The manager couldn’t even recognize Asians and did not show CCTV footage, and I was fined without any explanation. I was so angry and felt it was unfair that I moved out. One of the best things about Alpha Lumina is that, the Strata Council is both competent and genuinely motivated to advocate for residents. Unfortunately, this is uncommon; most Strata Councils tend to be made up of people with too much time on their hands and their own agendas. Not the case here. The building suffered under prolonged mismanagement by First Service Residential, particularly with Tony Izzo's ineffective oversight and a problematic concierge, Rohini.
