This bank is the absolute worst to deal with! If you are going to run an online only bank with no physical representation in the country of operation you should at least hire people to communicate with customers within that same country . You can never get a person that understands the issues you are calling about. Every person you will talk to will be based in another country and will speak broken English at best. I have used Ally banking for over 20 years. They provide very competitive interest rates on savings accounts and CD's. Better than most major banks. Easy on-line access to accounts and easy to transfer money between accounts. They provide free checks for checking account. Easy to pay bills using electronic banking transactions. I have had great service from Ally bank.
I have had a savings and checking account with Ally for about 7 years. I have been happy with their customer service and with their interest rates. I also opened custodial accounts for my kids and it has been easy for me deposit gift checks (e.g. birthday gift from grandpa/ grandma) via the application and to open CDs through the app to earn more interest on their accounts (which encourages them not to spend that money because they can see the interest earned by not spending it). The worst bank to do business with. If you like to send money to complete strangers and then talk to an offshore representative youre in luck with this banking system because they will do that for you and more. They will take your cashiers check for $16,429.00 sent priority mail and tell you they haven't received it until you provide tracking numbers. Then they will accept your check and not post it to your account for over a full week, all while your credit account builds interest of over $10 per day as well as late fees.
