I've had Allstate for 30 yrs, 18 of that back here in Louisville, after I retired from the USAF. According to Allstate's math, my $200k 1500 sf house needs to be insured for $331,500(wouldn't that be a nice big house?), with $250k personal property protection(say what?), for a single male with no children, but yet I didn't have the coverage I needed for a sump pump not working recently because electric was out for 2 1/2 days, and got about 7" of water in my entire basement.
