About this business
I have been in practice in Durham since 2000. I am originally from the Chicago area growing up in the Near West Side. I went into family medicine because I enjoy seeing patients of all ages. The most enjoyable part of medicine for me is getting to know my patients and their family. When that connection is formed treating someone becomes much more intimate and rewarding. Outside of my medical practice I enjoy spending time with my husband and teenage children. I also enjoy cycling and hiking.

I presented with life-altering symptoms. Instead of taking them seriously, Dr. Gard dismissed them. I had to seek a new provider who actually listens to their patients. Not recommended.
Dr. Gard listened to me and took action. I love her no nonsense but compassionate approach.
I did not appreciate Dr. Gard's line of questioning during my consultation with her. She asked me about my employment and financial situation because I am currently unemployed, and I felt judged by her. Her questions were irrelevant to my medical history. I am extremely disappointed and hurt by her questions, and I am hoping that she loses her medical license or at least reprimanded.
Dr. Gard is the best. She listens to her patients in a caring and respectful way. She is very knowledgeable. She works with you to find solutions.
This was my first appointment with Dr. Gard; she and her nurse were very nice. Dr. Gard was very thorough, answered all of my questions and made sure I understood everything before I left. She was also very polite when reminding me to schedule my yearly physical exam (I haven't had one in almost 6 years) :-P
