I wanted travel insurance for an international ski trip. I called before purchasing to verify that this plan would cover both medical expenses AND my ski equipment. I was told it would. My ski got broken during transportation and i called to file a claim only to be told that skis are not covered. Allianz lies to sell policies. Cannot recommend them for travel insurance.
Will not put anything in writing or respond via email. Would rather lose a customer purchasing an annual policy than write back with a “yes” or “no”.
Allianz Travel Insurance is an absolute scam when it comes time to actually honor a claim. I filed a trip interruption claim on November 10, 2025 after my trip to Tanzania was cut short due to protests and civil unrest—a legitimate safety issue and exactly the type of situation travel insurance is supposed to cover. Don’t Bother!!!! I had to postpone my trip 3 days due to an unforeseen emergency and I filed a claim 3 weeks prior to my trip and they did not issue a refund. Travel insurance is a scam unless you think you are about to become deathly ill, don’t bother. I will never use Allianz again, and you better read the fine print cause that is exactly how they make their money! Don’t bother. What a waste!!!
I bought tickets to a concert through LiveNation, and opted for the ticket insurance, though at the time, I thought of it as a sucker move and a waste of money. But, when the concert was cancelled, and several weeks had passed with no rescheduling or offer of reimbursement from the promoters, I contacted Allianz, and received a full and prompt refund. I was both surprised and impressed by the responsive customer service and will definitely use and recommend them in the future.
