A badly cracked windshield, a dealer recommendation (for Allen's as its only glass replacement service), and really fast OEM part finding and windshield replacement. The insurance company dealings were very time consuming and inefficient, but Chris at Allen's made up for it. The office manager was similarly super helpful and accommodating. The replacement was completed in two business days, with serious efforts made to make the process as painless as possible. And a lifetime guarantee.
When my windshield cracked I, naturally, contacted my insurance company, who has a partnership with a big national chain (though I could use any glass shop I want, that's what they recommend). Which left me thinking - would that partnership put me in the best solution, or the one that is cheapest for them?
