I am local so I stopped in to Allen Fly Fishing, they are running an amazing sale on rods and reels and I needed a new reel. What a great group of people Zack and Parker, answered all my questions, I got to do some hands on and made the decision to go with the Alpha Fly reel. I had to rig it and try it right away, it is so much smoother than my old reel. I got a sweet new hat too. 60 mile round trip to find this on the door and it’s not even fly fishing time here in Texas yet. Unbelievable frustration. Time is money. Gas is money. Sad ... 08/01/22 UPDATE - Showroom is no longer. They don’t answer e mail or contacts either. Great product by far but impossible to get answers or touch products for fly tying - which is absolutely essential!
I didn't even realize they were local when I ordered my Compass and Heritage rods on their BOGO sale. Really quality equipment for the price, especially with the sale. They're also beautiful rods. I just did not expect the quality and performance level at this price point. I'm tempted to order a full size run from 4 to 7 of Allen rods ( I have 6 and 8 right now).
Fantastic service and gear for nearly all fisher types/ levels in the fly fishing arena. Like their sister company (Six Gill), they have earned a customer for life. Even if you are just thinking of getting into fly fishing, give them a call for advice and what to get. They have always been helpful to me even over email.
