Matt offers a great service. My husband and I rented bikes from him toward the end of the season. He drove us to the trail head of the Rails to Trails path and we enjoyed a beautiful ride along the James River. We highly recommend Alleghany Outdoors!
Beautiful trail along a pristine river and forest. Make a reservation during “off season” as the staff isn’t always present.
Three of us (ages 52-74) rented bikes and were shuttled by Matt up to the Cedar Creek drop off point to bike 16 miles back to the start. It was a beautiful and easy ride! We stopped at Petticoat Junction convenience store for freshly made burgers and onion rings on the way back to at hit the spot. Matt was incredibly knowledgeable about the area, giving us some ideas on other hikes nearby as well. What a great experience! We will definitely do this again!
