I called and spoke with Duke yesterday and he gave me an appointment time between 9 and 10 today to come out and give me a quote. Finally at 10:35 I gave him a call. He didn’t seem to have any recollection of making an appointment with me yesterday. He told me he was on the road to another site and he could be here within one or two hours. I told him forget about it. I’m not really sure how they stay in business with this kind of management or lack there of.
I had a new cedar fence installed in my back yard by Alki Fence and was very satisfied with their customer service and work. The owner was quick to come out and look at the job and provide a quote. When the job started he was on site frequently to monitor the progress. He also was quick to reply to my phone calls or texts and provided excellent customer service. The fence looks beautiful!
Don’t use this company, they didn’t treat me right. They are racist!
10 years ago Alki Fence installed a handsome black cyclone fence on a slope, and a wood retainer wall beneath it. Thirty feet of it failed within 10 years, with retainer wall falling down the slope below. Duke immediately put me in a cancelled appointment for a few days later, and rebuilt the entire 60 foot fence and retainer wall , replacing all wood, for $800 less than the very reasonable price 10 years prior, charging for labor only, on half of it, and added handsome wood braces every few feet to prevent a repeat. Easy to schedule site visit for quote but then got ghosted/blown off with absolutely no follow up. Was told I would get a quote in a day or 2 but it’s been almost 3 weeks with no response. I called, texted, and emailed with no response. I get if you’re busy or not interested, but totally unprofessional to not provide any response. Looks like I’m not the only one who got treated poorly by Duke.
