Another wonderful 2 night stay at Alila Ventana. We stayed here 2 years ago in a Big Sur suite overlooking the ocean. This year, we splurged for a forest shower suite overlooking the forest and featuring 2 outdoor showers on the balcony. Overall, the chill but elevated vibe of the hotel remains the same, but a few things have changed - for better and for worse. Check-in and parking was a bit chaotic. I recently stayed at this hotel and was quite disappointed with the noise level in my room. The air conditioning made a constant loud humming sound throughout the night, which made it very difficult to sleep. In addition, there was a noticeable water flow noise from the pipes or bathroom area that added to the disturbance. For a hotel of this standard and expense, I expected a much quieter and more comfortable environment. Very unhappy with how I was treated here by the valet. The service here was shockingly bad compared to any other hotel I’ve been to. I’ve never been so disrespected and was totally shocked. Management will be hearing from me. In the future I will give my business to Glen Oaks, which is beautiful and has lovely service.

Enjoyed our 4 night stay here in May so much we are coming back for 6 nights next July. Fabulous staff! Delicious food and very relaxing. Not as big of a fan of the modernized updated room decor but that’s ok. What I wish would be addressed is the spider webs everywhere. On the steps, the lights , etc. just makes property tired and dated looking. That’s the only miss in my book!
