I scheduled an appointment at this clinic two weeks in advance, confirming beforehand that they accepted our insurance. However, upon arrival, I was informed they do not accept our insurance. There was also confusion regarding the use of CHAMPVA with Tricare, which is not applicable as they are not used together. Furthermore, the clinic representative inaccurately stated that CHAMPVA required pre-authorization, which is not the case. BEWARE OF UNETHICAL BILLING PRACTICES. Pathetic experience with their billing department. Totally unfair, dishonest and shady practice. They double charge you. As per my benefits, I would have been charged $25 copay for a regular health conditions treatment appointment . On the appointment day I was charged with $25 and the receptionist also confirmed this is what my member share is. My wife also went for the same treatment. BEWARE! This provider will run codes on you to get higher reimbursements and if you don't use insurance, she will charge you up front for the visit and at midnight her EMR system adds on more charges. I've now been charged two separate bills, for the same date visit, a basic visit where I asked about my thyroid. She gave me nothing, did nothing, didn't run tests, no lab work, no Rx., absolutely nothing. In fact she recommended I go find a specialist for what I was asking. I have been a patient of Dr Gustafson for a year now. I am having am much more positive expericence when my previous PCP which seems to want to get me in and out of the office. With Dr. Gustafson, she takes the time to listen. I have no issues getting an appointment when I need one.
