A friend and I came here 3 to 4 years ago with an unexpired Groupon or Living Social Coupon. We produced it prior to ordering. Our waitress looked at it, then got the manager. The manager looked at it, then went into a rant about the coupon provider not having ended the promotion when they were supposed to, and refused to honor it. i went there awhile back and got a huge surprise along with my Beef Kobidah a dead COCKROACH, DISGUSTING, GROSS EWWWW.... the owner kept telling me it had fallan from the cieling, which I clearly knew it was straight from the kitchen grill because it also had spices on it YUMMY han?? dinning area might look nice but kitchen, you now know it, when i was leaving I glanced by kitchen the owner and cheff had started cleaning it....

The restaurant owner and the waiters are a bunch of small time crooks. They've a lunch menu but they wont offer it to the customer unless the customer demands it. If you don't ask for the lunch menu, they'll charge you based on their dinner menu. I found out about the lunch menu and I asked why wasn't I told about it, the waiter told that I didn't ask for it!!! How would I know about it if you don't offer it??? my kids was so excited to try the beef shoarma (shwarma? shawarma?) which they haven't had in ages. Unfortunately, the beef was very tough and chewy, and they ended up throwing out more than half of the food. They don't sell enough beef to have some on one of those big ol' skewers and slice it fresh for every order. i will never go back to this restaurant again.

Very good! Best Middle Eastern food I've had. Staff and owner are great. Chicken Shawarma was awesome, so is the Saffron Lemonade. Would highly recommend.

AVOID at all costs! Slow service, weird "lentil" soup w/no discernible lentils - tasted like Campbell's cream of tomato with dry herb garnish. The beef, lamb, chicken were gristly, un-choice cuts, overcooked, unmarinated, tasteless. Hummous was ho-hum, baba ghanoush disappointingly bland. Only the tabouli salad had any flavor. WARNING: Prices are more expensive in person than listed on their website, gratuity added automatically to check. Smallish portions considering price. VERY DISAPPOINTING MEAL, we will never return.

Great PERSIAN food The previous review mistakenly called the food at Ali Baba's Indian. This is not Indian food and I did not see anything close to Indian food on the menu. It is Persian and some Lebanese. That explains why he said it wasn't "authentic." There are Indian restaurants in Tucson, however, Ali Baba is not one of them.
