I was here in 1995 and it was all abandoned. A lot of electronics, very very old computers etc. I found it completely by being curious. Needed a new set of struts for my car after the drive in and out but it was well worth it. Always fun to explore abandoned sites like this. From what I've heard it's back in use. Hope if it's abandoned again they will do a better job at removing the garbage and things the took in.
30 or so years ago I spent a summer working at ARO. Unforgettable experience and I’m so grateful it’s still contributing to our understanding of the universe.
verrrrrrrrrry important to know!!!!! if the map lead you from south way, change it to the north way. the south way is totally off road, and the tree will hit your car.
