I had a laparoscopic repair of an inguinal hernia today by Dr Carbonell and his team at Prisma in Greenville, SC. The guy is world class- it doesn’t get any better. From his genuinely caring approach to his technical skills he embodies everything right with modern medicine. I cannot recommend him enough. Kudos also to the team at Prisma he worked with- its a team effort and they perform flawlessly
He is extremely knowledgeable. He is a great communicator and exceptional listener and a great personality. He actually talks with the patient, not to or at the patient.If anyone is looking for a surgeon like Dr. Carbonell...look no further! Dr. Carbonell is the one you want!I recommend Dr. Carbonell very, very highly!

Great doctor with a skill set second to none
Dr. Carbonell saved my life. I had gone to Duke (NC), Emory (Atlanta), Charlotte, and MUSC (Charleston) and was told they could not operate on my esophagus/stomach 'condition'. Only two of these great hospitals even considered installing a permanent feeding tube to ease my problem. Then my gastro doctor had me go visit Dr. Carbonell. It was fine. I don't believe he heard all of my concerns because at times he was more interested in his cell phone then he was in hearing me speak. I would say the office visit was an average visit and nothing special. The appointment was squeezed in at the last minute which was a nice thing to do. It was worth the thirty dollar co-payment, but if my co-payment had been fifty dollars, that amount would of been way too much to pay for a consultation.
I have been dealing with a painful lump 2 other doctors had told me was a hernia. I saw Dr. Carbonell to finally get this "hernia" & pain behind me. He was able to immediately tell me it wasn't a hernia and what exactly he thought it was (which was spot on). His bedside manner and extensive knowledge was VERY reassuring. After reading numerous medical studies, I came to find, what I had was almost never diagnosed until AFTER surgery. He does beautiful work & knows his stuff! I HIGHLY recommend!
