The receptionist was very rude with a very bad attitude when calling to get a prescription on 1/15/2024 she didn’t wait for me to complete my question, the second she heard me say prescription she cut me off and stated option 3. I tried before calling her back but she still cut me off the second time and said option 3 not listening to the entire reason for my call. I’ve been a patient of Stoney Batter Family Medicine for about 15 years; I have decided to switch to a different practice. I had no issues until my original primary care physician left the practice some years ago and I had to change to a new one. At first, it just became very difficult to see my new primary care physician, Dr. Julie Prosseda, in a timely manner, so most of my appointments were with a nurse practitioner. Dr. Prosseda is amazing, I’m 24 now and I’ve been with her since I was like 8. Front desk is much better, helpful, quick, and kind.
The biggest issue I have with this practice is some of the front desk staff. One staff member in particular is quite unpleasant to speak with, and cuts me off in the middle of a sentence every time I call. My phone call today was regarding medical files that had been incorrectly scanned and then emailed to me. I called because a couple of the pages were missing, and the staff member was very dismissive and did not attempt to help me when I found out that the files were gone because they had been shredded. Dr. Schaeffer is very kind, caring, and responsive. On multiple occasions we have contacted him directly during non-office hours and he has always promptly responded, and continued to stay engaged until the issue was resolved. The front desk staff is also very friendly and quickly schedules appointments when needed, usually within 24 hours of calling the office. We love having Dr. Schaeffer as our family doctor.
