Well first off let me say, Dr. Alfaro should not be practicing. He and his staff are very unprofessional! He gives false hope to his patients!! He did surgery on my husband's eyes and it left him with absolutely no vision. Before the surgery my husband had some vision!!! He told my husband before the surgery. Let's go get your vision back!!! What kind of Doctor tells a patient that!! Only to be let down!! He should not be in business!!!
Very organized friendly staff. Dr Alfaro pleasant professional and compassionate.
I am kind of stunned by all these bad reviews. Dr. Alfaro has a dry and ironic sense of humor, and I'm sure not everybody "gets" it. But he's been taking care of my retina for 5 years and I have never had a bad experience in his office, with him or with his office staff. I have also never found him to be "egotistical" - to the contrary, I have found he has superior knowledge and the ability to explain straightforwardly in lay terms the medical reasons for problems, and the strategies behind their treatments. My grandfather came back and after lab work and examination from an other appt. When he got into the room to see the doctor, Dr. Alfaro came in and said “I can’t do anything for you” and turned around and walked out. My grandfather has reached out twice to to figure out why and has not gotten an answer.
I have never seen my wife so angry as she was after seeing Dr. Alfaro. She had a referral from her normal optometrist to see what needed to be done for a hole in her eye, to prevent her retina from detaching. Our normal optometrist has been tracking this hole for several years and was even seen by another optometrist when she went to get contacts.
