My Experience; The Truth: After reading the previous reviews, imagine the shock when my family’s experience turned out to be the exact opposite. As a retired Army Officer and disabled Iraq Veteran who is well-traveled, I have purchased and sold my fair share of homes. However, I have not ever experienced so much disrespect, disregard, and disappointment in a realtor. Alexis Weigand did not demonstrate integrity, professionalism or expertise during the listing of our home. And because of my family’s horrible experience, I question the validity of a lot of things regarding what we were told by her.
Our family was made to feel like we did not deserve the same type of service as the rest of her clients. Why? We don’t know. But our experience was an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE! (1) She agreed to a list price, stating, how comfortable she was with it, but later acted like she had amnesia once 1 or 2 realtors mentioned that she might be too high. (2) The photos were mediocre and presented in an odd manner. (3) The listing write-up was elementary at best (sent to us the evening before the listing was supposed to go live), so I had to write it myself. (4) They left our house unsecured (multiple doors unlocked and the gate to our back yard open) on more than one occasion.
We listed with Alexis Weigand based on the reviews and her promise to provide the same type of “5-star” experience. Unfortunately, we were deceived and treated like we did not matter. After countless issues, prior to the day, we were supposed to go live, Alexis offered to let us out of our contract without having to pay a $500 fee. We thought we had already gone through the worst, so we may as well see if all the patting on the back she gave herself at our house was accurate. The truth is, she made us feel like she did not want to sell our house. It is my personal opinion that she did not want to work with people like us, and only took the listing because she could not justify otherwise. In which I say, she should have just been honest and not accepted the listing. We feel that all she did was sabotage the sale of our house from day one. In two weeks, we only had 3 showings, and we believe it is because of Alexis Weigand’s refusal to market us as professionally as she did the homes of her other clients. Moreover, she stated that our home was listed on hundreds of sites, but our friends, family, and other local realtors struggled to find it in many locations.
Alexis provided us with a bunch of handouts about what to expect from her and her team, but NEVER once did Alexis make good on any of her empty promises. For example, not once, did Alexis, or anyone from her team, check in with us during the process to ensure our happiness. NO one kept us up to date without us first reaching out to ask a question. It was extremely disheartening to experience such calculated evilness from people in the very county I risked my life for.
Finally, less than 2 weeks into the process, my husband and I decided to save ourselves from what we were feeling was a discriminative and sabotage situation. Unfortunately, we are well aware of what that looks and feels like. We told Alexis that we would gladly accept the offer to be released from our contract with the $500 waived and she agreed. This was our family’s Alex Weigand experience and we refused to be silenced. If sharing our truth can help one family from being antagonized and made to feel less than, praise God!
