Thank you for saving my best friend’s life, Dr. Matousek, Dr. Nisco, all attending staff! You are all so incredible and it was the best experience for my friend James Fitchlee of any hospital we have been admitted to. All the employees were professional, friendly, food was exceptional. Dr. Matousek likely saved my life. I have (or had) an aggressive form of lung cancer, which, for a never-smoker, came as a shock. I was initially working within another local medical system (I didn’t know I had options, and the process moved very quickly from diagnosis). From the initial consultation to the 2 week follow up, Dr. Matousek AND his team were fantastic. Dr. Matousek was very up front, honest and encouraging on the consult. My surprise was surgery was two days later. Rehab was explained in detail and following it was great. To my unfortunate surprise, a possible separate cancer was detected on the pet scan. Dr. Matousek and his team are the most compassionate and caring team of professionals. My husband was diagnosed with lung cancer after being hospitalized for pneumonia. The team of doctors at Sacred Heart that we had were amazing! Once we had our appointment with Dr. Matousek, he did everything he could to get my husband into surgery as soon as possible to take the mass out.
