My 19-year-old son suffered a Jones break in his left foot on February 1. We saw Dr. Sullivan with Rothman orthopedics two days later and he recommended surgery and for us to immediately see Dr. Daniel the surgeon. You couldn’t do better in any aspect hiring Dr. Deirmennjian as your surgeon. Patient, friendly, his laid back personality puts you at ease and you can sense you are in excellent hands. 4 months post-op TKR, age 60, and from initial consultation to now I couldn’t be more pleased I chose him to do my surgery. I had an appointment with Rothman on 4/29/22 with a doctor (MS) who recommended an injection for my leg pain due to spinal stenosis. At the end of my 1st visit I was left seated at the person's office that was to schedule my shot. I waited 15 minutes after the medical assistant left my chart at her desk. Knowing I needed to get with my other half before I selected a date, I left and figured I'd call back, as 15 minutes was too long a wait to just tell them. We tried to set up a visit to Dr Peter Sharkey. Our visit was suppose to be last Friday 3/18/2022 at 10:30 am at the Media Office. We had a 2 hour drive because our family doctor recommended the institute. When we got on the Pa Turnpike to get to the visit we figured we should contact the office because we never had any type of confirmation from Rothman. I went to Rothman due to some body pain- I saw Dr Gu. He ordered an MRI. When he got the results he immediately referred me to Dr Hsu the surgeon. He made an appointment for surgery on L3-4. It was scheduled for March 8. I was assured that I could return hi one the same day. I had the surgery and was then admitted overnight. No explanation was given. I had no idea of what the plan was. On the Clinical side, I received Good care through several procedures. However, there’s another side to consider. Rothman has owed me $147.21 for 4 years!! I’m dealing with a department called “Unclaimed Property”. Unclaimed?? Trust me, I absolutely want to claim my money. I reach out to no avail. And the most ironic aspect is that while I’m on hold, I have to listen to a continuing boastful advertising loop. Ridiculous. Nobody cares. Unprofessional organization that makes it impossible to schedule or contact doctors' offices but using a "call center" that puts you on hold for hours. Once you reach a person they are unhelpful and put you on hold again. For the amount of money they bill insurance companies - which is passed on to me in higher premiums and copays - it would seem they could put an extra person in each office to answer phones. I am sure they are surgeons are wonderful. But try getting any help for anything else and you may as well just give up. I received 4 reminders For my appointment and try to check in online like they ask you to and the system doesn't recognize me. I tried to call and confirm my appointment and the address because the address didn't look correct. After 45 minutes of trying I gave up and hung up. It's unbelievable.
