I saw him a few times. He's one of those doctors that shrugs his shoulders and rolls his eyes. Not impressed with him in the least. Seeking a more qualified and more caring doctor.
His office called to cancel my appointment after waiting the whole month to be seen. When I tried to ask for why and to explain my reasons, the assistant yelled at me for the most part of the conversation and rudely insisting the appointment needed to be cancelled. Made an appointment after I experienced tingling and atrophy in one arm, and an MRI had already been performed with a diagnosis of severe stenosis at C6-C7. I was simply interested in a consultation advising what exercises/activities I should engage in/avoid to prevent worsening the conditions. Dr Simotas did not review the MRI with me and instead advised that MRI diagnosis depend on what mood the radiologist is in that day and I'm fine and appointment is over. Gave me all of 10 minutes, waste of time.
I was in a tremendous amount of pain and Dr. Simotas was my second opinion. My first opinion made up things about my condition and said I would need surgery. Dr. Simotas was way more conservative and practical and it was the right decision. HSS hires the best. Dr. Simotas- I’m still so grateful!
