Dr Ambaw cancelled my mom's appointment without anyone from his office calling to tell us about the cancellation. I drove from South OKC to North OKC on icy roads to pick my mom up. As this was our first office visit with him, once I got to what I thought was the building his office was in, I called to confirm the address. Dr. Alemu is an outstanding physician. He provides excellent care and has top knowledge in his field.
Scheduled me for 2nd CAT scan for more information on possible complex cyst. Didn't tell Lab why he ordered 2nd scan so report didn't say whether cyst was simple or complex. That's why the scan was scheduled, to clarify if it was simple or complex. Also ordered Lab test, Lab couldn't read his orders, delayed another week, wasted time waiting at Lab so they could contact him for clarification. Recommended I see a urologist, since he wouldn't even make diaganosis.! Waste of time and money!
Dr. Alemu did not explain my test results very well at all. I found out over the phone by his nurse that I was in stage 4 ckd. He did not explain that there is no need to worry about transplant until kidney function is consistantly at 20%. The doctor did not schedule an appointment right after my biopsy....again results over the phone. I was very worried most of the time, because he did not explain things to me. His office staff was wonderful.
