Alderbrook Resort & Spa is a great local escape The Alderbrook Resort and Spa has been updated under new owenership and it is a jewel on the lower Hood Canal. The best part is that it is less than 1 hour from Tacoma, so is easy to get to after work on a Friday night and stay the weekend. Room, spa, and food prices are reasonable given that many spend a large amount of money on spa vacations. The food, by the way, is fantastic with a NW cusine focus. They also have an indoor heated pool which my kids enjoyed thoroughly.
Alderbrook Inn - World Class Resort and Restaurant With beautiful Hood Canal in the background and the Olympic Mountain Range in the distance - it is one of the most beautiful spots on the West Coast. The dining is wonderful, seafood - fresh as if you caught it yourself. You can see why Bill Gates has a home next door - it doesn't get any better than this.
So near to heaven! I recently spent the most wonderful weekend in recent memory at The Alderbrook Resort & Spa. The surroundings are breath taking. All that Mike & Jim and their wonderful team have to offer, well would make angles wish for human form. I have NEVER been treated so well by any staff in any resort world wide. I met a young man wearing a chef's coat near what I feel must have been the Alder brook itself, he explained how salmon actually swim up the brook to spawn. Alderbrook - Classy Resort on Hood Canal If you want someplace to go that's not too far yet feels like it is, try Alderbrook Resort. The rooms are beautiful, the resort is beautiful and the facilities like spa, swimming pool and fitness club are all first rate. Plan on eating in the resort though as there is nothing around for miles and miles. Resort food is pricey and variety is limited.
