Been in the program since 2019. Santa Fe AA consists of a lot of old timers and dry drunks. Not a lot of solid recovery in the rooms. I'm still looking for a truly good meeting here and have yet to find one. If you are a local and minority, don't expect to see a whole lot of people like you in these meetings in Santa Fe. I've found more recovery on zoom meetings in other New Mexico based meetings or on the online AA Intergroup. I've had a lot of rude encounters in the Santa Fe AA as a young person and a minority. Unless this is your absolute last resort, stay away. Lots of dry drunks here and this is not a good fellowship in my experience with the Santa Fe AA for the past 4 years. I would not recommend anyone to do AA unless ordered by the courts or rehab or you've tried other recovery programs and have failed. If you are a woman and a minority, good luck, you'll have an even harder time finding fellowship in these rooms. Santa Fe AA is basically like going to AA meetings with a bunch of old white people and dry drunks. Not a good fellowship for women, especially minority women, young people, or newcomers. You won't find truly good fellowship in the Santa Fe AA if you're a newcomer and young people's meetings are non-existent. I've been going for 2.5 years and still keep going back even though nothing has changed.
