I can’t write about Dr Alcera or her practice because I’ve had two appointments canceled the day of my appt. I understand Doctors get sick and have emergencies but both issues happening to the same patient? To add insult to injury, I was told the office sent me a voice msg an hour before my appt., but I never received any msg. I’ll find another practice that is more reliable.
Dr Alcera has been my primary care physician for many years now and I cannot think of a better practice out there. Staff is extremely friendly, and Dr Alcera herself is excellent. Do yourself a favor. Go see Dr Alcera and see what 'care' really means.
My appointment was canceled three times in a row by Dr Alcera the day of until I finally decided to go to a different practice. The idea of not going to a big corporate practice was nice but I guess that is the downfall- when the doc calls out the practice has no other options and they have to call you to cancel/ reschedule your appt.
The doctor is great but it is a struggle to get them to do anything for you in terms of prescriptions, lab orders, imaging orders. Prepare to call at least twice, if not 3 times for things to be done correctly. And if they need you to come in before they will refill again, they don't give you a call, they just don't refill. Really disappointing.
