The overall service from front desk, nurse to the check up by Dr. Alcarez fell far below what I would consider a humane standard of care. When I raised concerns regarding various competency issues Dr. Alcarez avoided building understanding and tried to gaslight me by saying she was being intentional & conscientious. Experience was not exceptional.
I have been a patient of Dr. Alcarez for over 20 years. Each visit with her is an opportunity to learn how to be healthier and more informed on best medical practices for lifelong choices. She and her staff are effortlessly capable and friendly and willing to follow up on insurance issues, doctor referrals, test results, and medication requests. Dr. Alcarez was my physician for many years, I was always satisfied with her skills and she is a lovely person . The office however is extremely unpleasant, they treat you like a number, getting info requires petitions, they don't know how to deal effectively with insurance companies, and when they screwed up to the tune of $ 1,500 per month for an osteoporosis drug I finally left. Never gave me results of a genetic test that determined I have a high cancer risk despite multiple attempts at obtaining them. found out 4 years later from another clinic that was doing their due diligence. Missed out on years of preventative screening due to complete negligence and the office straight up ignoring me.
