Performers banging on a row of water glasses, a group of young men racing in a circle banging on a drum, and various other oddities cannot possibly be the best of "new music" to be found. David Alan Miller took the stage with the "composer" after each piece to praise him, as if urging the audience to clap more. This clearly seemed to be a case of the old story, "The Emperor's New Clothes." Sad.
Always a high quality performance embracing new composers featuring living compositions I would’ve likely never heard otherwise.
The Albany Symphony Orchestra's performances at both the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall in Troy and the Palace Theater in Albany were nothing short of spectacular. Their world-class musicianship and captivating renditions truly showcased their exceptional talent. Their two spectacular venues add to the charm of the experience. Without a doubt, the Albany Symphony Orchestra deserves a resounding five-star rating for delivering unforgettable performances that captivate and inspire audiences.
Good activity that too many people ignore.
