We had a great time fishing for King Slamon with Captain Diane and her crew. If you want to catch a boatload of salmon, even when everyone in Seward is telling you it’s out of season, this the place to go. They brought us to the fish, coached us on how to bring the fish in successfully, and helped develop a plan to pack and ship the fish before we got back to land. We had a fun time catching fish, watching the otters and water flat. Boat was clean and organized well. Deckhand did a great job managing the lines and handling the “nasty”stuff. Certainly would do the trip again.
I called the number and Diane gave me a call back. I asked very nicely “Hi Diane, do you offer half day halibut fishing trips” and she RUDLY says “Nope, I don’t do half day and I don’t do halibut, bye” and hung up the phone! She didn’t even give me an opportunity to ask about the other services. I feel sorry for anyone who has to do business with this lady. If she’s running a business where she has tourists using her services, she should learn some customer service skills.
We had a horrible experience. We were never told up front that the captain sells more spots on the boat than there are poles so everyone is to rotate, but it doesn’t end up fair times. She had a friend on board who was completely bullying the time slots and she wouldn’t come out of the cabin to address the fact he was running the rotation times and not the crew. Had a great time! Probably the best time I’ve had on a salmon charter. Crew are friendly and personable, fun to talk to, and the boat has a really unique setup that makes for a great time. Boat was clean and Diane knows how to run her business. I highly recommend!
