We stopped in during a cruise stop - it was a crazy long line; almost an hour from the corner to counter! Once inside though, it was easy to find seating and the wait for food was less than 10 minutes. I prefer batter-fried to breaded fish, but the fish was still amazingly fresh and flaky. The fries were outstanding! Our table mate also ordered a salad, and it was very generously portioned with fresh veggie toppings. We have been here two times previously, as recommended by the internet as well as Baranof Fishing excursions. This time we were recommended this place by Family Air Tours. The locals say this is the only place they will actually buy fish from (because they normally catch it themselves), because they know where the fish is being caught from. The line was quite long, so just be prepared for that, and then after you order it takes a little bit to get your food too so just budget your time accordingly. Really good food in Ketchikan!
The food is great, some of the freshest crab and fish we experienced on our entire trip. But the truly remarkable thing, especially in a town that’s constantly overrun by sometimes (often?) rude tourists, is that the service was impeccable. Truly outstanding customer service. We had a blip that could happen anywhere, and truthfully, it was our fault, but the service staff here went above and beyond to ensure we left having a great experience.
