Overall great company to work with. Car was nice, but as I noticed, I think is normal in AK, had quite a few windshield chips. Ran great, reliable. Service was great. Couldn't rent a car with a return time of 4a, but then when I got to the counter they said I could return at 4a, and since I already paid for the time anyway, no extra charge. Brought it back and had some discrepancies afterward with the person that checked it in, but after careful review with management we got it all figured out. Alaska 4 x 4 rentals totally saved our vacation! We had a reservation with another local Anchorage rental car company, and when we arrived at midnight to pick up our car, we were informed that our car had a transmission out on it and it would not be fixed for sure by the next morning. They told us to look for another car and they’d give us a refund (which they did) All the major car companies were out of vehicles, Alaska 4 x 4 rentals found us a car in their inventory and didn’t take advantage of our last-minute situation. Poor service, no flexibility, and the vehicle wasn’t ready on time. We were told that we would be notified by phone once the vehicle was ready. However, while we waited, every customer who arrived after us was able to pick up their vehicle and leave before us, with no explanation or update provided. This experience was extremely frustrating.
We made the honest mistake of being off by a day on our reservation. Tatiana was very helpful, understanding, and quick with getting us another vehicle so we could have it right away. Highly recommend!
