Money not service drives them Very small place some birds seemed sick and eye's closed. Not very friendly employees , my friend suggested it. Price for the low quality of birds was not acceptable, I departed disapointed.
Don't board your bird here! We boarded our 19 year old cockatiel here for two weeks while on vacation, and we came back to find ALL of his longer wing feathers gone, and him completely unable to fly. They swore they did not clip the wings, and said "he molted a lot because it is warm in the store" by way of reasoning. Our vet said this is absolutely absurd. Small but Nice I have been a customer for just a few years. The store is small but have been in business for over 50 years. They must know what they are doing. I purchased a parakeet from them and their birds are very healthy. When the babies are ready for sale they do put them in smaller cages but only 1 or 2 to a cage. Almar Pet Shop is great! I have been a customer of Almar Pet shop for several years and they are in my opinion one of the best pet shops in Milwaukee. They are very knowledgeable about pets and extremely honest. They are very friendly people and over the years have given me excellent advice about caring for my parakeets. Smoke filled & dusty Toys and supplies were very dusty and I happened to buy one small bird toy that I ended up throwing away because the smoke smell wouldn't fade and I thought my cockatiel would be better off without it. One of the owners was smoking right next to the bird seeds and the tiels and parakeets were in too small cages with completely eaten seeds in near-empty dishes. I've always wondered if anybody actually purchased birds from them and what, if any, health issues those birds had.
Pet Shoppe This was just an okay experience for me. Nothing that really stood out to say WOW. Service was fair. Cleanliness was fair. Selection was fair.
Al-Mar pet store I've been in here twice and was not impressed. Sales people did not speak to me, bird cages were dirty, too small, and inappropriate for their inhabitants. Several birds looked sick both times I was in. I will probably not buy anything from this place.
Most friendlest People there I think they are very friendly out going people i have ever met. I have gone in there numerous times and will keep going back. they are ery honest not like most sales people.i went in there to buy a canary and they were honest told me these are not babies this is the wrong time of year for babies. you want to wait tell spring and get a baby not a adult that way you raise them.
