Been bringing my kids to Dr. Aswad since they cut their first teeth so about eight years or so now and every visit has been smooth. She is gentle, truly great with kids, and the office staff keeps everything running on time. Parking is easy right in front or along the side streets, and our insurance claims have never hit a snag. I have seen people upset about the $150 no-show fee, but if you think about the overhead in Somerville, an unused slot really does hurt the practice; just set a reminder and everyone wins. I was a patient at Dr. Al-Aswad's practice for around 5 years, and was always pleased with the quality of her care. However, the cancellation policy for this office is labyrinthine and unreasonable -- and they take advantage of this to charge their patients exorbitant fees. My last appointment was scheduled for a Tuesday, and on the Saturday beforehand, my childcare canceled. I knew that there was a 48 hour cancellation policy. I've been a patient for five years and though I've moved away from the neighborhood, I still make the drive from a couple towns away to see Dr. Al-Aswad. She's compassionate and thorough, very reasonable.
