I'm so grateful to have an Al-anon office in my area. The staff and volunteers are kind, helpful, knowledgeable and trustworthy. There is a plethora of information to be found there. The office is clean and well organized. They might not have immediate answers but they will follow up with any questions that I have. What a wonderful resource to have in our community!
This place is run by volunteers who do a great job to provide info to families of alcoholics. I was looking to attend a meeting in my area and the person could give me a few options. Exactly what I needed!
When my mother was dying of alcoholism and our family fell apart my father and I attempted to seek help at Al-Anon of Southeastern Wisconsin in West Allis. We were met with 300 lbs of dismissal and antagonism by the center's truly worthless administrative staff. Absolutely useless individuals staff this organization. They did nothing for us but leave us to rot. Surely another organization offers helps but Al-Alon sure does not. Shame on them.
I was nervous to go in because it was my first time talking to anyone else except my mom about this, but the people were so helpful. They made me feel like I wasn't alone, and I have been so used to the gaslighting game that I'm starting to think I'm crazy! Thank you very much!
