What kind of service are people expecting for a $7 bowl of chili??? Every Hard Times has the same great thing. Simple, quick, taste good. The Arlington store is no different. If you are looking for fantastic service or high quality anything you are barking up the wrong tree but if you are looking for good chili or just good cheap eats without the frills you are in the right spot. got asked to leave Service was awful. We came in around midnight, ordered a pitcher for four of us, and shots. We were told that there wasn't enough time for us to drink all of that and then the server asked us to leave. We were there for 15 minutes before she even came to our table, and then left. Their loss, I'm a good tipper.
Dump Total dump. It hits you as soon as you open the door. That day after the big frat hoouse party smell. Disgusting. Dirtiest place I have ever been. Would have been cleaner in the alley by the dumpster. Felt sick for hours after eating that vile chili from that big dirty pot on the stove. Stay away. Unfortunately you have to give at least one star on this site, deserves none.
Pretty good chile... and a friendly bunch of servers and customers. I like my 5way, though I do tend to regret it a few hours later. Definitely try the taste tester if you haven't been there before. Metro accessible at Clarendon and well worth trying.
good chilli not so great service The chilli here is amazing. You can try all different kinds in all different ways. When you come here even when it's nto busy the service is average at best. when it is busy it's worse. I would suggest take-out when it comes to this place. Hard Times Cafe -- I Have No Idea If It's Good or Not I've heard how delicious the chili is at the Hard Times Cafe, but the truth is, after going there this past Friday night, I have no idea how their fare is -- I couldn't get any service. I walked in with four friends, and saw a woman over to our left, dancing franctically. I feared that she was schitzofrenic, but it just turns out that she was our hostess.
