I’ve been using Akron Children’s since my oldest was born 9 years ago. Before we had McMillen who was awesome every time we saw him. My daughter still likes to see him in the halls. Once he had left (but of course he came back so we see him from time to time) we switched around a few times. Both of my kids adore Don Buchanan. “Dr Don” is their favorite and they don’t complain to have to go in to see him. Between him and Emily the NP, my kids are always well cared for there in the Wooster Office!
I'm not one to post reviews, but KEVIN (the Medical Assistant) made the whole experience amazing!!! From vitals to hearing check to immunizations, (with his calm Master Shifu demeanor) he provided reassurance for the 11yo patient. Provider and office staff were good, but Kevin really helped us feel comfortable and made the whole experience great. Kevin- thank you for all the good you did us!!
Dr. Joyce is amazing! We're so thankful for her professionalism and kindness towards our children.
Years ago before they moved into their new building the office staff were amazing and helpful. I don’t know what happened after that move but staff members left one by one and the place has continued to go downhill with a very high turnover rate. The staff has become unprofessional and not at all friendly. Over worked and under paid, maybe…but still unacceptable. It is also impossible to get an appointment scheduled for anything needing immediate attention. They always send a MyChart response saying to go to urgent care. Eve... read more
