Dr Akins actually listens to what you have to say and catches things that you don't notice. He doesn't try and hurry you out to get to the next patient. I dread the day he retires.
Like many recent reviewers, I also experienced extremely unprofessional behavior from the staff. Phone calls (When they actually answer) were consistently met with attitude and a tone that felt dismissive and disrespectful. Simple questions seemed to be treated as an inconvenience rather than part of their job. The front desk associates, in particular, were incredibly rude and unhelpful. I had been a patient of Dr. Akins for well over 10 years. I found him to be professional and caring. He is a tremendous doctor. His staff however is very unprofessional. When calling or going in for an appointment, I felt I had interrupted their day. It is a shame his staff is not as caring and professional as he is.
Dr. Akins was great, I’ve been there 3 times and planned on making him my main physician but I can’t stand the thought of speaking to the front desk people again they’re so rude and genuinely make you feel like a pain for trying to schedule… I waited a month on a referral and when I called back to check in she was immediately rude just for me asking and said their are people with bigger problems. Will not be going back there. Hire better staff all these reviews are the same.
Had this doctor since the turn of the century and when I needed him the most he dropped me as a patient without an explanation or reason leaving wondering if it was due to some unfounded rumor or just a knee jerk reaction. Thanks for nothing. I been sick with serious medical conditions and all this guy can do is provide less concern. Reminds me of an insurance policy, good until you need it.
