Great experience. First time renting from Akamai and will definitely use them again. Very competitive rates to the major corporate chains but locally owned (win) and free parking with their affiliated lots. Check their website for more details but the included parking made this choice a no brainer. Service was also excellent when picking up and returning the vehicle. Easy walk from the Waikiki area hotels.
We had a great experience with Akamai rentals! This was our first trip to Hawaii and we really wanted to explore. I found this company and reserved an 8 passenger mini van months in advance. The day we were arriving, our flight was delayed , landed late and therefore we were running late to pick up the van. They contacted me before closing and waited for my husband to get there to pick up van. Great car rental place in Waikiki. We rented for 3 days to drive around the island, but did not have parking space at our hotel. The people at Akamai let us keep the car in their lot each night for free. The woman who helped us -- Leoni -- is absolutely lovely, a true aloha spirit. I highly recommend renting from them, and would definitely do so again, any time I'm back in Waikiki.
