Akalei Designs was created after three years of braiding in a Japanese style called kumihimo. With the Hawaiian Lei as inspiration the jewelry designs are similiar to Ni'ihau (Forbidden Island) and yet incorporate aspects of modern lei using glass beads.

This is an amazing jewelry designer. The forever lei are made using glass beads and are so unique and affordable. They remind me of the Ni’iHua style but so different too.
