We had such a great experience with AJ’s! We came in with a ton of questions for our gravel drive (honestly probably way more than most), but they never made us feel like a burden. From Eppie at the shop who ~very~ patiently helped us with our initial orders for two different types of gravel, to Mike, who delivered both loads and even gave me a few pointers. For the most part, nice people and offer fair prices. Establishing a lawn, needed good top soil. Got a couple loads of cleaned and sifted top soil. After sprinkling and some rain the organic material washed right off. What was left was sand and gravel. I’d suggest checking it well before you get an entire load of it. Once it’s down, not much you can do about it. This stuff would have been great for a driveway, not so much for a lawn. The dairydoo is great top soil. Grass established fast. Other top soil, maybe 25%
The first time I contacted AJ‘s, I was looking for a quote to put in a driveway. I stated that I only lived less than a mile away.They said they were very busy and they might be able to do that in the fall, I said well please put me on the waiting list and I am very anxious to get this done. AJ’s was extremely responsive to our call for septic backing up into our house. Our tank top is 6’ plus underground and all the excavators in Manistee county were busy plowing (understandable). AJ’s were at our house within an hour and a half of our call and even lined up the Vac service. They installed two riser pipes, graded and were gone within hours. Very polite, courteous and professional. Thank you! It is appreciated more than you know!
