Good indian food near Columbia campus Whenever I go near the Columbia campus, I try to make the trip to Ajanta. While the decor needs some redecorating, the food is what I come in for. Try the chicken tandoori which is really flavorful without being too dry. Another interesting thing about this indian restaurant is that it is one of few that offer indian dishes with beef (if you dislike lamb). Service is above average and I rarely have to wait to get seated.
This place is great. Everything is cheap and damn delicious (and during lunch, even cheaper). Go for it.

This is Sarah's fav Indian restaurant in NYC.
The naan is good, curry is better than other places around here (though not better than shahi biryani), and makhni is good.
Skip it--not worth it. But the Ethiopian place next door is wonderful!
