We got our start in 1971 when Jack Marshall opened this store to serve customers in Charlottesville, VA. Jack always said, "Reputation by recommendation," and today his son Scott Marshall continues that same tradition. Much of our business comes from referrals. We take care of our customers to a level that many of them have never seen before. We have 6 shuttle vans running all day long to bring you where you need to go. OK if you don't know where to go Out of 10 moderately difficult repairs/services, about 3, or 30% may need a re-work since they weren't done right the first time. They don't provide a written estimate, unless you force the issue. Most places will provide you with one as a matter of principle. Are very expensive - almost at dealership pricing. Overall though, an OK repair shop with reasonable turnaround. Feeling pressure from new shop (Univ. Tire) across the street.
Rip off service I found their drop off and pickup service useful and convenient so I decided to use them for my yearly inspection. My usual practice is to inspect my vehicle for lights, tires and general safety monthly and before taking it in for a state inspection, I've done this for over 30 years. I get the call from airport auto a couple of hours after drop off and they inform me that I'll need to spend about $700.00 to meet inspection. Airport Road Auto Center I had no problem getting an appointment here and even got a ride to work after I dropped my car off. Then, once my day was over, my car was ready to be picked up and they came to work to drive me back to the shop. I question their business practices though because they try to sell products/services that aren't necessary. We had a hard time finding a place that would inspect my newly street legal motorcycle and this shop was willing to do it. PROS: Shuttle service CONS: Questionable Business practices

Airport Road Auto Ctr is Reliable, Honest, etc. I have been using this firm for general auto repairs for well over twenty of my 28 years in Charlottesville. During that time, I have encountered nothing less than complete courtesy, knowledge, and care for my vehicle's maintenance. They are like my family doctor -- they have my complete trust and confidence. Best Place In Area Airport Road Auto Center is the best place in the area to deal with. I have never found better mechanics that are honest as well. The prices are fair for the area and they always do things right. The shuttle service is a very nice bonus, I don't know anywhere else that does that. One of the best things about them is they treat people with respect. Sometimes hard to find that when dealing with mechanics. Best place I've ever dealt with.
Airport Auto has completely lost my trust and loyalty… I’ve used them for years and won’t go back and if you’re a senior woman, like me, you should think twice… I took my old car into Airport Auto to be thoroughly checked over; my AC quit working and in June 2021, when I had my car inspected (at Airport Auto), I was told my left ball joint wouldn’t pass inspection next year and definitely needed repair as soon as possible. UPDATE... after several phone calls with the manager of Airport Auto, Chris Snead, he decided to issue a refund given my experience. This is absolutely unheard of; he went above and beyond any expectation I had for resolving the situation.
