Our heat pump died earlier this week. We called Air Conditioning Doctors and they showed up the same day to take a look. Tested it. After they gave us the options, we decided to get it replaced. It was 19 years old. Yesterday they came out and installed the outdoor unit, a 2.5 ton Amana (SEER 13) with a new pad. A complete rip off, showed up an hour late and charged $100 just to take the cover off the A/C and tell me he couldn't fix or even diagnose the problem. The website states "FREE ESTIMATES" and no services were performed, so what did I pay $100 for? To stand there and talk on his phone, cuss, and spit all over my lawn? Also misdiagnosed to problem.
