I’ve been a customer with Air Academy for about 2 years, and over that time they’ve charged me nearly $800 in overdraft fees — even though I specifically opted out of overdraft protection when I opened my account. After reviewing my paperwork, I discovered they had enrolled me in the service by default, which violates federal Regulation E (banks must obtain explicit, separate consent to opt in). Terrible bank. Terrible experience. Stay away at all costs. There are so many banks that care about the customer. Don't bother with this one. We got sucked in during a merge with a bank we loved. We have it a shot for a year. We've moved to another bank that cares about us as individual people not a bank account number. So different. So much better.
