I’ve been a customer with Air Academy for about 2 years, and over that time they’ve charged me nearly $800 in overdraft fees — even though I specifically opted out of overdraft protection when I opened my account. After reviewing my paperwork, I discovered they had enrolled me in the service by default, which violates federal Regulation E (banks must obtain explicit, separate consent to opt in). I’d like to take a moment to recognize Ms. Kate for her outstanding service. Every time I visit the bank, she is consistently kind, helpful, and approachable. Her warm smile and positive attitude truly make a difference. I often find myself choosing to wait in her line, even if others are available, because I know I’ll receive the highest level of customer service. Unfortunately, i can't recommend this bank. The people are great, but the bank itself is very inconvenient. Closes at 5, Open late on Wednesday, basically useless if you have a job and need to do banking. Unless you do online banking only, you should bank elsewhere.
