A True Taste of Spain! Having recently returned from a trip to Spain, I can confidently say that Aioli Bodega Espanola is completely spot on. Finding authentic Spanish food back home can be tough, but this place nailed it. The wine selection was incredible, the fresh bread was wonderful, and the paella was absolute perfection—truly top tier in every way. I was treated to dinner here recently, and honestly, I did not enjoy it at all. The muscles in the paella were not only incredibly fishy, but so huge that I felt like I was eating some type of critter with tiny legs and arms. It really grossed me out and tasted awful. The overall taste of the paella was very average. Maybe two shrimps in there and 3 calamari rings. Literally everything is good here, the place is small but it’s giving a such good vibe! Me and my partner went here for our anniversary celebration, it was a last minute decision but for sure make our special day more fabulous!
We ordered the mussels, but they had an extremely unpleasant taste that reminded us of sewage/feces, unlike any mussels we’ve had before. We sent them back after only eating a small amount. The kitchen said they didn’t find anything wrong with them, but we were still charged for the dish. We were disappointed that there was no replacement or adjustment to the bill. Hopefully this was just an isolated experience.
