Great Aikido Dojo I came from another style about 5 years ago. Faulkner Sensei and his students were very welcoming and helped me to build on what I had learned, rather than to forget it and start over. Faulkner Sensei and his ranking students are excellent teachers. The large mat is great.

Aikido of Birmingham, is a pretty special place and by far the best dojo I have been a member of (I've been a member of 6). While I have known Greg Faulkner Sensei now for almost 10 years I only recently became his student when I was fortunate to move to Birmingham for grad school at UAB. .For those who are looking for a place to be able to explore and make a martial art their own, this is the place. It is not what I would consider your typical hardline dojo, where accumulation of rank is everything, and the classes are segr... read more

I am with Aikido of Birmingham for more than 10 years now. It is a great place for fitness and fun. Practicing Martial Arts of Aikido not only improve one's strength and conditioning but also bring the confidence and calmness, which are very useful in the life outside of the gym.

Great dojo... Awesome mat, really friendly folks, and the same really friendly folks over and over. Very inviting to newcomers. Not as hard of a workout as I like, but after trying other dojos in the area it is worth much more to me to go to a friendly, open, and supportive dojo than one that is just concerned with charging you for pretty colored belts. Many thanks to Sensei Faulkner. I definitely recommend giving this dojo and Aikido a try.

Great Dojo in BIrmingham Aikido of Birmingham is a pretty special place. I have known Greg Faulkner Sensei now for almost 10 years but only recently became his student when I was fortunate to move to Birmingham. I am proud to call myself a student of Faulkner Sensei and encourage any persons interested in Aikido to give Aikido of Birmingham a try. I certainly have not regretted it and am happy I became a member of the dojo.
